August at Twin Hills

Happy Summer!

Here we are in the middle of summer; the course is absolutely beautiful and the pool is still a refreshing 86º. What more could you ask for?

Congratulations to the Twin Ding winners. First place went to Jeff Linihan and his guest Tyler Peak and second place went to Mel Huffaker and his guest Mike Pugliese. A complete list of winners can be found in the “Golf Shop News” section of this newsletter. Thanks for playing! Thank you also to our members who did not play for being patient and understanding while the club was closed for this annual tournament. We appreciate your support as well.

As most of you know, the 4th of July fireworks display didn’t go as we had planned due to the unpredictable Oklahoma weather. However, the show must go on, so make plans now to be here on Labor Day, Monday, September 6th. We will start off with a breakfast buffet on the North Porch from 7:00am until 10:30am. We’ll have fun & games for the kids and a DJ at the pool from 1:00pm until 5:00pm with poolside beverage service available for the “Big Kids” from 12:00pm until 5:00pm. The Grille will open at 8:00am and remain open all day. We will also be hosting our 10th Annual Labor Day Yacht Races at the pool. Yachts are made from cardboard and duct tape only and anyone may enter. Races will begin at 1:00pm sharp. Don’t be late for the race as it doesn’t last long and is definitely a “KODAK” moment. A list of “Rules and Regulations” is available at the pool desk. Then stick around because we will end the summer swim season at dark with a huge fireworks display. See you there!!!

Attention Members! Due to the start of school, we will be changing the hours of operation for the pool beginning Tuesday, August 24th. The pool and snack bar will then be open from 4:00pm until 8:00pm, Tuesday through Friday. The weekend hours will not change until we close the pool on Monday, September 6th.

Coming up this month is the Men’s Club Championship on Saturday and Sunday, August 14th and 15th followed by the Ladies Club Championship on Saturday and Sunday, August 21st and 22nd. For more information on these events, please contact the Pro Shop at 427-3947.

Jerry Broughton, our course superintendent, and his staff have been working very hard on the course aerifying the fairways, tees and collars of the greens. Please bear with us during this process while he is continually working to provide the best playing conditions possible for your enjoyment.
